SWANSEA, S.C. (WIS) - Deputies say a woman is in the hospital after a shooting in Lexington County early Wednesday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., deputies found a woman with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of North Church Street in Swansea.

Crews rushed her to the hospital, where she’s still receiving care, deputies said.

Investigators believe the shooting actually happened a short time before 2:30 a.m. on Bachman Dykes Road, about four miles outside of Swansea.

Detectives say they have a lead on a potential person of interest, but they still need tips.
