GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Marine units with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office will assist Williamsburg County deputies Tuesday in the search for a man missing for more than two weeks.
Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle belonging to Harry L. Barkley was retrieved from waters near the boat landing off Sirfield Road on Monday afternoon.
Barkley was last seen on Aug. 31 in the Andrews and Georgetown areas, Williamsburg County deputies said earlier this month. Deputies have released few details about his disappearance and did not initially release information on any vehicle associated with Barkley.
Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver said marine units will deploy side-scan sonar on Tuesday near Chavis Landing to assist the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation into Barkley’s disappearance.
Anyone with information about his location is asked to contact Lt. Jean Wrenn at 843-355-6381, ext. 4534.
