COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A man was shot Sunday night in a residential area of north Columbia, police said.

The Columbia Police Department tweeted about the shooting around 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

It happened in the 5100 block of Middleton Street. That’s near Craven Street about three blocks south of North Main Street.

CPD believes the man was shot by someone he knew. There was an argument between the men outside before multiple shots were fired, police said.

Officials did not share the condition of the man who was shot.

This is an ongoing investigation.
