CFD puts out fire on S. Beltline Blvd., investigation underway

Road closed as CFD works to put out fire on S. Beltline Blvd.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Crews from the Columbia Fire Department have put out a fire at a commercial property on South Beltline Boulevard.

At this point, it is unclear what started the fire or how much damage has been done.

Officials later confirmed that the property was vacant. No injuries have been reported at this time.

The fire forced officials to close a portion of South Beltline near Shop Road.

The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
