COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A tractor trailer overturned on Interstate 26 during the Wednesday morning rush hour, closing all westbound lanes of the interstate.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. at the I-126-Columbia Bush River Road overpass.

Officials said an overturned semi blocked all lanes of the interstate. The driver was taken to the hospital.

The tractor trailer was carrying bales of cotton. Crews had to remove the big rolls of cotton from the truck before the road could reopen.

All lanes were finally clear around 10 a.m.

Officials have not shared any more information about the driver of the semi.
