Lexington Medical Center has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline STEMI Gold Quality Achievement Award.

This honor acknowledges hospitals that strive to improve care and outcomes for patients who have STEMI heart attacks, which occur when a coronary artery is severely blocked off and heart muscle begins to die.
