COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Team officials have confirmed South Carolina and Houston will square off at Colonial Life Arena on December 8.
The men’s basketball contest is part of a new scheduling alliance formed between the Southeastern Conference and the American Conference.
The new alliance will place four programs from the SEC against four schools from the American Conference as part of a two-year home-and-home series, which is set to begin this upcoming season.
The last meeting between the two teams took place on a neutral court in 1990. The Gamecocks won that contest 74-70.
Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss are the other three SEC teams taking part in the scheduling alliance. They will take on Memphis, SMU, and Wichita State, respectively, on January 4.
