Coroner IDs victims in murder-suicide at Columbia apartment

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people found dead in an apartment near West Beltline Boulevard on May 18.

The Columbia Police Department said a man and a woman were found dead inside of the Colony Apartments residence on Bailey Street.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the two as 26-year-old Cynthia Chinyere Ohans and 31-year-old Jirmaine J. Mobley, both of Columbia.

Ohans died of a gunshot wound to the upper body; Mobley died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The coroner as ruled this incident a murder-suicide.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office and the Columbia Police Department are investigating the incident.
