Driver killed in single-vehicle collision in Lexington Co. identified by coroner

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - One person has died following a crash in Lexington County Thursday night.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim as 26-year-old Alexis Younginer. According to Corporal Sonny Collins, the collision happened at 8:45 p.m. on the 600 block of West Dunbar Road near Cedar Lane Parkway in West Columbia.

Officials said the driver was traveling west in a 2011 Jeep SUV on West Dunbar Road before the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was wearing a seat belt.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
