Woman who lived at the home where SC child was shot during a deadly home invasion arrested
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Sources close to the investigation tell WIS that a woman who lived in the home where an 8-year-old child was shot and later died during a home invasion has been arrested.
Linda Lyn Monette, 23, was arrested on drug charges on Tuesday night, the source said. She is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on $20,000 bond, according to online jail records.
She was not arrested at the home.
The child, 8-year-old Mason Hanahan, was shot during the home invasion and later died at the hospital. His mother, Tyler Hanahan, says her son was there because that’s where his father lived.
Monette’s arrest is not in connection with Mason’s death. No arrests have been made in connection to the home invasion at this time.
Sources say they are still investigating this as a home invasion, but this was not a random act, and do not want the community to be alarmed. The home, sources say, has connections to drug activity.
