CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner has identified two people who were killed Wednesday morning in a crash on I-26 westbound.
Morris Miller, 31 and Dayton Taylor, 24, were both passengers in a 2019 Dodge Charger which was involved in the crash.
The Charger appears to have rear-ended a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee and then went off the road into the woods, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Sonny Collins.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital.
The crash happened around milemarker 207 around 1:45 a.m Wednesday. All lanes in the westbound direction were shut down and cars were being forced off the highway at the Ashley Phosphate exit. Traffic was also being detoured to exit 209 and onto the US 52 Connector.
