Student loans actually make up the second highest form of household debt totaling $1.5 trillion dollars.
A new study released today by WalletHub reveals the cities with the most and least student debt in 2019.
Columbia is in the top 2 percent of cities with the most student debt.
According to the study, the median debt in the capital city is around $28 thousand dollars, while the median earnings of bachelor's degree holders is $42 thousand dollars.
Other findings in this study revealed that 59 percent of college students in the U.S. say their school is not doing enough to educate them about personal finance. And 1 in 3 college students thinks they'll be worse off financially than their parents.
