HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A gator is in more comfortable surroundings Sunday after being spotted lounging on an Horry County road.
A spokesperson with South Carolina Department of Natural Resources confirms an 11-foot alligator was safely removed from a residential area off Highway 707 near Tournament Blvd in Horry County.
Pictures of the reptile have been making the rounds on social media.
Authorities from SCDNR, Horry County Police and South Carolina Highway Patrol worked together to transport the visitor.
Officials thank a nearby resident who called in the gator to the 24-hour dispatch line. If you see one in your neck of the woods, you’re asked to call in at 1-800-922-5431.
