COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Welcome to the National Football League, Deebo Samuel!

The former South Carolina wide receiver was selected in the second round by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Samuel was one of the Gamecocks’ biggest offensive threats any time he touched the ball. The former Chapman High product spent the last three seasons with Carolina and filled up the stat sheet along the way. In 30 career games at USC, Samuel had 148 catches for 2,076 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also rushed for seven touchdowns, threw for two scores, and four kick returns for touchdowns as well.

Samuel finished his career at South Carolina in ninth place for most career receiving yards and tied for ninth in receiving touchdowns in program history. Samuel is also fourth in school history with 28 touchdowns scored while holding the program record most kickoff returns for touchdowns.

This past season, Samuel was an all-purpose first-team All-SEC selection by the Associated Press and league coaches and a first-team All-SEC return specialist. He was also a second-team All-SEC selection as a wide receiver.
