Family for Life: Zoey

Family for Life: Zoey

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - In this month’s Family for Life, we’re introducing you to a 14-year-old girl who is working find her confidence while also looking for stability and security.

We took Zoey to GlowOut Salon for a day of pampering, surprises, and to learn more about her dreams.

Zoey is a girly girl, a little quiet & kinda shy.

She is also ambitious, and you can tell from her "Blue My Mind" color selection, she likes to have fun.

Zoey's never had a pedicure or manicure, so she's excited about her special day at GlowOut in the Vista.

"I am, I like going out places," Zoey said.

Zoey said she always up for trying something new, “just adventures and stuff."

She loves reading and is a big fan of the Twilight series. She's also pretty good at drawing anime.

Zoey absolutely adores pets and one day she hopes to be a vet.

"I get to cuddle with them,” she said.

But right now, she's hoping another dream will come true, "hopefully, that somebody will adopt me.”

Talking with Zoey you'll learn, she's not a material girl. She said that there are only a few things her new family would need to know about her.

"I really like animals and I want my own room and that I’m very nice and I like to draw and I like going places,” she said.

As Treneace Jacobs gives her the royal treatment Zoey opens up and shares something every parent needs to hear.

She says a lot of parents forget that kids need their time, "I just want a family that will make me feel like they love me.”

A family that makes her feel completely and unconditionally loved.

We gifted her with one last surprise that she loved, a VIP session with professional makeup artist Tia Powell.

"I’m happy!" Zoey said as Tia added just the right touches to highlight Zoey's natural beauty.

You could call it a glow up at GlowOut.

We extend a very special thank you to, the owners of GlowOut Michael and LeAnn Norris, nail tech Treneace Jacobs, and makeup artist Tia Powell. Zoey is still glowing from how special they made her feel.

This story has another very special and unexpected twist, while Treneace was pampering Zoey we found out that Treneace’s mom, Shirley Harris, and her husband, have been foster parents for more than 20 years. They’ve cared for 100 kids and adopted three. We are hoping someone will see this story and be led to give that same amazing gift to Zoey.

If you have that heartfelt calling for adoption call 1-(888)-828-3555 to find out more and get the process started right now.
