Irmo's Kennedy to take over as head coach at Manning

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Reggie Kennedy has a new job.

The East Clarendon High alum, who won a state championship with the team in 1985, is returning to his home county to take over as the head football coach and athletics director at Manning High.

Kennedy, a former SC State linebacker, has previously served as the head football coach and athletics director at Irmo for the last five years. He has also served in those capacities at Orangeburg-Wilkinson, Fairfield Central, Kingstree, and Sumter.

Kennedy led Irmo to a 5-5 record and a berth in the Class 5-A playoffs last year. He will take over a Monarchs program that finished 7-4 a year ago.

Kennedy was named the 2018-19 Class 5-A Athletic Director of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association.
