SCHP: Woman arrested for leaving scene of hit-and-run in Lexington Co. earlier this week

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a woman has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident after striking a pedestrian on Platt Spings Road earlier this week.

Highway Patrol says Amelia Garrett Shirley, 23, was the driver who struck a woman on Platt Springs Road near McCartha Road around 5 a.m. on April 15. The woman suffered serious injuries, but is expected to be OK.

Shirley is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
