COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Not long after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, junior forward Mikiah Herbert Harrigan is returning to South Carolina for her senior year.
“I found out yesterday,” Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley said Wednesday. “Kiki and I and her family had a really great discussion on how we move forward and how we got to the place where she wanted to transfer. So, the conversation was great and our program is healthy, contrary to what some people may believe.”
With the 6-foot-2 forward returning, the Gamecocks will bolster their frontcourt presence.
Herbert Harrigan was the team’s fourth leading scorer averaging just over 10 points per game while hauling in just over five rebounds per contest.
With Herbert Harrigan rejoining the fold, she becomes one of two seniors on the roster along with guard Tyasha Harris.
However, the Gamecocks will be without Bianca Jackson, Te’a Cooper, and LaDazhia Willams. Jackson has transferred to Florida State.
The Gamecocks finished this past season with a 23-10 record and an appearance in the Sweet 16.
