CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A North Carolina woman has been found safe after police say a man was holding her "against her will” after she was taken from her home Thursday morning.

Officers in Wilkes County say 37-year-old Rosalino Duarte-Cruz surrendered himself Friday morning around 7:30 a.m. at the Wilkes County Jail.

Authorities responded to a domestic disturbance in Wilkes County and quickly learned Duarte-Cruz “may have taken Lauren Hall away from the house against her will.”

A police says Duarte-Cruz dragged Hall through her front yard and into a car. Authorities say the two have had an on-going relationship.

Hall has been returned home and is safe, officials say. Duarte-Cruz was charged with second degree kidnapping and assault on a female.
