COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A 26-year-old Columbia man was sentenced to seven years in federal prison after stealing guns from a gun store.
Evidence collected by investigators linked Cedrick Reddick to the burglary of 75 handguns. Investigators also found similarities between that burglary and burglaries of several liquor stores in different counties. Officials were eventually able to identify Reddick as one of the suspects after DNA linked him to one of the liquor store burglaries.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators found a 9mm handgun in his apartment that was stolen from a gun store.
According to officials, Reddick has two previous convictions for burglary and transporting stolen firearms. During the incident, officials said Reddick was on federal supervised release.
Reddick will also serve three years under court-ordered supervision.
