RCSD: Suspect in custody after bank robbery at First Palmetto Bank

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a bank robbery on Thursday morning.

The incident happened at First Palmetto Bank on Two Notch Rd. RCSD officials say the suspect is in custody and has been identified as 28-year-old Jneil Jacobs.

Deputies said Jacobs approached the bank employees as they were entering the bank. He attempted to force his way in, then brandished a gun and demanded money.

Deputies arrived at the bank within minutes of the call and located the suspect still inside with the money and gun. Deputies were able to arrest Jacobs without incident.

Jacobs is currently in custody with investigators at the RCSD headquarters. He will be transported to Alvin S. Glenn detention center and charged with Armed Robbery.
