Lexington police searching for Pitt Stop armed robbery suspect

LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - Lexington police are searching for a male they believe was involved in the armed robbery of a gas station on the 5000 block of Augusta Road near Interstate 20.

On January 11th around 7 p.m. officers responded to a Pitt Stop where an armed robbery had just occurred.

Officers spoke with witnesses who said an armed robbery suspect entered the store, presented a black and silver handgun and demanded money.

The suspect then took an undetermined amount of money from the register before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a male in his late ’20s to late ’30s, approximately six feet tall and 230 pounds.

He was wearing black pants, a black long sleeve shirt and black boots with a dark green ball cap and an orange or red safety vest.

Officials believe the suspect is traveling in a silver-colored sedan.
