COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Clemson football team are national champions once again after an undefeated season. One Midlands company is celebrating the big win by staying true to tradition early Tuesday morning. Koss Creative in Columbia is printing thousands of t-shirts promoting Clemson’s big win on Monday night.
Getting a big head start, the company began printing as soon as the game ended shortly before midnight. Planning has been underway for the shirts over the last several weeks. Those plans were put into action moments after the Clemson football players were declared the national champions.
Koss Creative will be printing around 15,000 shirts on Tuesday alone. It’s a routine they’re getting used to. The company has been printing t-shirts to mark occasions like this since the Carolina baseball team championship win.
They did it for USC’s women’s basketball team, and now twice for the Clemson football team.
There are two different designs for fans to choose from, and the owner of Koss Creative Rusty Koss says that the t-shirts are a great way to start the year with a major boost in sales, which also means lots of hard work and long hours.
“We started printing immediately after the game and we will continue running until probably about 3:00 this afternoon and continue packing and shipping until around 6:00 or 7:00 this evening. So, it’s a big day for us and then it continues throughout the week," Koss said. "So, today alone we’ll distribute around 15,000 shirts, but through the week, anywhere from 20-25,000 shirts.”
Koss Creative will be printing championship shirts through Monday night for the Palmetto Shirt Company.
Koss says Tuesday’s t-shirts will bring close to $500,000 in revenue for retailers across the state.
