· Sunday is an Alert Day.
· An area of low pressure will bring a cold rain to the Midlands.
· Some sleet or freezing rain could mix in early Sunday morning for the Northern Midlands. We’ll keep an eye on it.

First Alert Weather Story:
We are tracking an area of low pressure that will move toward the Palmetto State from the northern Gulf Coast. As the system approaches, we’ll see a cold rain overspreading the Midlands this weekend, especially late Saturday into Sunday.
Most, if not all, of the wintry weather with this system will develop well to our north. However, we’ll keep a close eye on the forecast. We can’t rule out some sleet or a period of freezing rain mixing in, especially for the Northern Midlands early Sunday morning. But areas in the Upstate and in North Carolina will have a much better chance of seeing a wintry mix and/or accumulating snow with this system at this time. Parts of the Midlands could see anywhere from .25″ to .50″ of rain through Sunday.
Make sure you check back in with our local forecast as we move through the next several days for any changes. We’ll alert you if there is a better likelihood of wintry weather here in the Midlands.
High temperatures will be in the 40s this weekend. Low temperatures will be in the 30s.
Drier weather moves in early next week. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
