COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Today, we are expecting an increase in cloud cover and rain chances. Most of the day will be dry. But later in the day, rain chances will increase to 40%.
Temperatures will remain above average and settle in the lower 60s. A storm system will be moving out of the Gulf of Mexico later today, lifting a warm front over the region. That is why you will notice a warming trend Friday.
Most of the system will lift to the north, but there will be plenty of moisture to move over the southeast Friday and the weekend. Alert days have been posted for Friday and Sunday for widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms.
Friday is a First Alert Day. We are expecting waves of moderate to heavy rainfall along with some isolated thunderstorms on and off through the day. Rain chance at 90%. High temperatures will be on the warmer side though in the lower 70s.
