COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Gamecocks sent their fans home happy with the gift of a victory Friday night.
Sinking a season-high 15 3-pointers against the Owls, No. 25 South Carolina easily turned back Temple 88-60 at Colonial Life Arena.
Te’a Cooper led the way for USC with 16 points while going 4-of-5 from long distance. Tyasha Harris had 12 points and six assists for the Gamecocks while Doniyah Cliney provided 11 points.
Carolina led 44-35 at the half before running away with the game in the third quarter. The Gamecocks held the Owls to just six points in the period and shot over 55 percent from behind the arc in the quarter.
Alliya Butts was the leading scorer for Temple with 19 points.
South Carolina (7-4) returns to action on Dec. 30 when they host Furman at 2 p.m.
