Roadways reopen after scrap yard fire in Lexington County
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Charleston Highway is back open after firefighters in Lexington County worked to extinguish a fire at a scrap yard Thursday night.
According to Lexington County spokesman Harrison Cahill, the fire happened at the 2200 block of Charleston Highway. Lexington County Fire Services were able to contain the scrap metal fire, but officials have not been able to identify a cause yet.
The Cayce Department of Public Safety was also on hand to assist.
Last year in May, a fire was reported at that same location there in Cayce.
Cahill said there were no injuries from the fire.
