One killed in Florence tractor trailer accident

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Investigators with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are figuring out who is to blame after a tractor trailer sideswiped a car, killing its driver on Tuesday.

Officials say the accident happened shortly after 10am on SC 403, approximately three miles outside of Timmonsville.  Investigators said a car and a commercial vehicle carrying farm equipment sideswiped, killing the driver of the car.

Florence County Coroner Bubba Matthews identified the driver of the car as Willie Ham, 62.  Matthews says Ham died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

SCHP officials continue to investigate the incident and hope to conclude who was at fault for the accident by crossing the yellow line.
