Dr. Ray comes to Columbia from his home of Charleston. Dr. Ray received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from South Carolina State University where he was a member of the football team under Coach Willie Jefferies. Following that, he completed his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, an affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Board Eligible with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Ray completed his medical and surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania-Presbyterian and Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann. His four years of training focused on treating foot and ankle disorders with medical and surgical means. Dr. Ray has works at most area hospitals including Providence, Richland, Lexington, and the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. He and his team are the largest providers of foot care for hospital patient and out-patients in the Midlands.
Dr. Ray has an academic interest in diabetic limb salvage, reconstructive surgery, and sports medicine. Dr. Ray enjoys local high school and college sports when not seeing patients. He also is plays competitive softball and basketball.
