COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Police say 41-year-old Davee Baskerville beat up his ex-girlfriend and then made threats to her on her cell phone.
Deputies say Baskerville's victim has left the area, hoping and waiting for his capture.
"Every day he's still out there he's a threat to the victim, calling the victim and the victim can't have peace and tranquility," says Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts.
Davee Baskerville's ex-girlfriend can't find peace back at home in Columbia, so she's hiding with the couple's sixth-month old daughter.
"She is very fearful that he may come back and try to take the child, which was what the incident was all about in the first place," says Metts.
Authorities say a little after midnight on October 11, Baskerville paid an unwelcome visit to her apartment.
"He pushed his way into the residence and told her to get the bags packed for the child, he was gonna take the child with him," says Metts.
When the victim refused, deputies say Baskerville got violent.
"He ended up hitting her in the face with a force so hard with fist, that he broke her glasses and bruised her left eye," says Metts.
Deputies say she called 911, and Baskerville ran off.
"He knows he's wanted," says Metts.
Baskerville's last known address is on Gavilan Street off Farrow Road in Columbia. We spoke to his step-father at the door, who says he hasn't seen or heard from him in about two weeks. His step-father says he wasn't aware that he was wanted.
Deputies believe Baskerville might be hiding somewhere between Columbia and Lexington. They say this is the fourth time he's been charged with criminal domestic violence. He's 5-foot-8 and weighs about 200 pounds.
If you see him call 1-888-CRIME-SC.
