COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A suspect accused of killing a man in Union County is believed to be hiding out in the Midlands.
The victim's mother hopes you see his picture and help bring him to justice.
Authorities believe murder suspect Derrick Ruff of Prosperity is running loose in the Midlands.
Deputies say last month he murdered a 19-year-old man up in Union County. Now, the mother of the murder victim is pleading for your help.
"My baby's gone, Lord's got him I know. I'm at peace with that because I know Jesus got my baby, but I'm not at peace with these people still walking around out here like it's alright, it's not alright. I miss my baby. And it's tearing me and it's tearing my family apart," says Tammy Davis.
Deputies say in Union, on August 18 at 12:30am, Ruff and three other men entered the home of Kelvin Davis and his sister.
Deputies say the men pointed guns and demanded money, and tied up the sister with a bed sheet all in front of her 12-year-old and 3-year-old daughters.
"My two grandbabies was in that house with their mother and it scared them to death when these people come in, tied my daughter up and had guns to their heads," says Davis.
Deputies say Ruff and the other men brought Kelvin Davis into the garage and shot him to death. Since then, Ruff was identified, and deputies say they nearly nabbed him at a motel in Commerce, Georgia.
They believe he's now in Newberry County or in Columbia, armed and dangerous.
"And I want them to be brought to justice, because there's other people out there that they can harm, or be harming right now," says Davis.
Authorities say ruff is 5'11" and weighs 175 pounds, and goes by the nickname "black Jesus." if you see him, call 1-888-CRIME-SC.
"And I want anybody that know anything concerning this, please, because you don't know, he's still out there, it could be someone in your family next hurt, or even murdered like my baby was," says Davis.
