COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Six members of the Midlands-based gang the "Gangsta Killa Bloods" have been sentenced to federal prison, while another 17 await jail time.

US Attorney Kevin McDonald says the sentences follow their guilty pleas to drug conspiracy charges.

In January 2007, 23 GKB members and associates were indicted on federal drug and firearm violations stemming from their involvement in a cocaine, crack, and marijuana distribution conspiracy.

McDonald says 21 of the 23 defendants charged pled guilty, and the remaining two defendants were recently found guilty following at trial.

The six defendants sentenced Tuesday, all from Columbia, were:

  • Jenero Dean Williams, II, aka "Lil Nero," age 19, sentenced to 120 months imprisonment
