LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - Lexington County officials say a six-year-old boy was hospitalized after a dog attack last week.
Deputy County Administrator Joe Mergo says the boy was attacked by a blonde chow at about 7:40pm Sunday in the Westgate Subdivision in West Columbia.
Mergo says the child was bitten on his right wrist, right hand, left hand, and had scrapes on his legs.
He was taken to Lexington Medical Center by his parents with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials tell WIS News 10 the dog was apprehended by Lexington County Animal Control and remains under a 10-day quarantine at the Lexington County Animal Shelter.
At this time, an owner for the dog has not been identified.
