COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - WIS has established a "Big Switch" Speakers Bureau that is making presentations to groups in the Midlands until the date of the DTV transition in June. Our speakers are managers of the television station, and they are speaking to civic, community, and service groups to get the word out about The Big Switch and what it means to our viewers. The presentation takes about 20 minutes, then we like to allow 15 to 20 minutes for questions. We bring our own audio-visual equipment, and we ask that you supply an AC power outlet, one 4x8 foot table (or two 4x4 feet), and a screen or a white wall on which to project our PowerPoint presentation. If you have a traditional analog TV set at your meeting location, we can use it to demonstrate how the TV converter box works to change digital television signals into analog TV.
We are looking to speak to groups of 50 or larger, but may be able to work with smaller groups depending on the time and location. Simply fill out the form below to request a speaker from WIS, and we will get back to you soon. Please be sure to include the name of your group, where you would like to meet, possible meeting dates and expected attendance.
