As the new general manager at WIS, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself - and to ask for your help.
My predecessor, Mel Stebbins, delivered editorials on this station for nearly two years, on topics as diverse as homelessness, the lottery, and Gamecock athletics. And he usually closed his segments with a request to "let us know what you think."
I moved here from San Antonio, Texas, and since I'm a brand new resident of the Midlands, I'm especially interested in hearing what you think.
As leading providers of news, information, and entertainment, we at WIS have a special responsibility to serve you. And that's my first request.
Please write. I'd like to know what you think WIS can do as a television station to serve you better -- whether it's a programming suggestion, an editorial idea, or an issue where WIS might be able to take action to make this growing region a better place to live.
You and I may not always agree, but you can always count on WIS to listen.
I've spent a lot of time in the Carolinas and elsewhere in the Southeast. I'm very glad to be here, and I do hope you'll keep in touch.
