COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA. - Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, Inc., a provider of continuing care retirement communities and hospice services, will expand and enhance their BeWell (Bringing Everyone Wellness Enrichment for Lasting Life) wellness initiative promoting successful aging across their continuum for their five residential communities, Lutheran Hospice and BeWell home services. As the new BeWell Program Manager, Cindy Curtis will be responsible for developing and managing this comprehensive health initiative for the organization.
Ms. Curtis is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a BA in Social Work and Business and earned her Masters Degree in Social Work/Policy and Program Analysis. She is also a Certified Bereavement Facilitator with the American Academy of Bereavement. She has worked in a variety of settings serving older adults and at risk populations including hospitals, assisted living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, the Office of the Governor - Continuum of Care, and Richland County School District One. In addition to past positions of Social Worker, Clinical Manager, and Project Director her varied work experience and expertise in award-wining program development, education, marketing, case management; counseling and volunteer recruitment and management will enhance the development of this holistic wellness program. As a volunteer she served as an elected member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the City of Columbia and wrote several grants for the Richland and Lexington County Cultural Council.
Lutheran Homes of South Carolina is a not-for-profit ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, providing comprehensive residential living and health services to over 1100 residents, hospice patients and home services clients across the state. The Corporate Support Office is located in Irmo and the organization's Continuing Care Retirement Communities include Lowman Home in White Rock, Rice Home in NE Columbia, Trinity Lutheran Home in Aiken, RoseCrest Retirement Community in Inman, and Franke at Seaside in Mt Pleasant. Lutheran Hospice serves patients and families in 11 SC counties with offices located in Columbia, Greer, Ladson and Mt Pleasant. BeWell Home Services provides non-medical homes services to clients in Richland and Lexington counties.
