Oil and Oil Filter Service:
Oil is the lubricant that keeps your vehicle running. Lubrication is not its only job though; it also acts as a cooling agent for the engine as well as a cleaning agent to help prevent carbon and other materials from damaging the internal parts of your engine. Most vehicles recommend the oil and filter by changed every three months or 3,000 miles. This is true even if the car is driven very little.

Automatic Transmission Fluid:
Two of the top reasons a transmission fails are heat and fluid contamination. The transmission fluid acts very similar to engine oil, although it is a hydraulic fluid. It lubricates the internal parts of your transmission, acts as a cooling agent and acts as a cleaning agent for the transmission. On most vehicles, it is recommended that the complete Transmission be serviced every three years or 30,000 miles.

Manual Transmission Fluid, Transfer Case Fluids, Front and Rear Differential Fluids:
Just like any gearbox, heat and poor lubrication will cause premature failure. As the unit runs, you will have normal wear on the working parts, which will break down the lubrication over time. Contaminates, such as water or mud, can also enter through the vent. The proper fluid type will vary depending on design or use of the vehicle. Service interval recommendations normally range from 30,000 to 60,000 miles. But, if your vehicle is used for off road or four-wheel drive use, servicing is recommended more often.

Brake Fluid: With the introduction of Anti-Lock Brakes, brake fluid became the critical hydraulic component of the brake system. Brake fluid is what makes your brakes work. Under normal conditions, the fluid absorbs moisture from the air. This and other contaminates can cause brake components to fail to operate properly and wear out prematurely. As a rule, the brake hydraulic system should be flushed and the fluid replaced every 24 months or 24,000 miles with an ABS system and every 36 months or 36,000 miles for a non-ABS system. The complete brake system should be inspected for condition and performance every 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Engine Coolant: The engine coolant/antifreeze helps cool your engine, and protects against overheating. The cooling system affects the performance of almost every system on your car and should be checked once a month and kept at the proper level. It is recommended that the cooling system be flushed and new coolant / antifreeze replaced every 24 months or 24,000 miles for older vehicles and 36 months or 36,000 miles with long life coolant. To reduce rust, scale deposits and corrosive material build up, the entire cooling system should be tested and inspected every three months of 3,000 miles as part of your routine maintenance.

Power Steering Fluid Service:
The power steering fluid is subjected to high pressure and heat. As a result, the fluid breaks down, and contamination, loss of lubricating properties and varnish builds up causing premature wear to the Power Steering System. To prevent damage it is recommended that the power steering fluid be flushed and new fluid replaced ever three years or 30,000 miles.

Air Conditioning/Freon:
The Air Conditioning /Heating System regulates the temperature inside your vehicle. This is usually a comfort issue, but it can become a safety issue. A yearly A/C service that includes evacuating and recharging the system to its proper level will remove moisture and help insure proper performance.
