Three charged in teen's shooting death

(Moncks Corner-AP) December 6, 2005 - Three men are charged in the death of a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed and then fatally shot over the weekend.

Berkeley County Sheriff's Captain Rick Ollic says 22-year-old Shelton Reid is charged with the murder of Desquan Lampkin. The suspect's brother, 18-year-old Gary Reid, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder. 17-year-old Lamanj Snipe is charged with misprision of a felony.

Coroner Glenn Rhoad says Lampkin's friends put him in a car after he was stabbed during a fight outside a nightclub. Shots were fired and attackers rammed the victim's car, pushing it off the road into a tree.

Another group of friends grabbed Lampkin from the wreck and put him into another car that got him to the hospital, but by then it was too late to save the teen.

Ollic says Lampkin "got a double whammy" but it was the gun shot that killed him.
