Employee shot in foot during robbery at Rush's on Harbison

(Columbia) November 30, 2005 - A robbery occurred around 10:00am at the Rush's on Harbison Blvd., and authorities are now searching for the suspect.

Authorities say the store had just opened when a masked man entered the restaurant and demanded a former employees check. At that time, another employee walked in and was shot in the foot. His injury is not considered life threatening.

The unidentified suspect fled with a small amount of money from the cash register.

Major John Allard of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department tells News 10 that there is no surveillance camera video. The suspect is being described as a black male with a medium complexion and acne on his chin. He is between 5'11" and 6'1" and weighs between 175 pounds and 190 pounds.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray jacket with burgundy stripes and a hood, blue jeans, light colored Timberland boots and black gloves.

The suspect is in his late 20's or early 30's and was last seen in a green, late-model Nissan pickup, with shiny tire rims. The pickup might have been driven by a white woman who has red hair.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department, Columbia Police Department and Richland County Sheriff's Department are searching for the suspect.
