(Columbia) Nov. 14, 2005 - South Carolina Yutaka Technologies, a Japanese supplier of parts for Honda ATVs, has announced an expansion of its manufacturing facility in Kershaw County.
The $4 million expansion will allow the company to accommodate new frame and brake parts for the Honda ATV. Yutaka will add 48,000 square feet to its existing 122,000 square foot facility in Heritage Pointe Industrial Park on Interstate 20.
SCYT anticipates hiring 14 additional full-time positions. Hiring is anticipated in the first quarter 2006.
It will be the second expansion for the company within the last three years. In 2003, SCYT expanded their catalytic converter line with a $7 million investment, 70 new jobs, and 24,000 additional square feet of manufacturing space.
