Closing arguments begin in case against former USC football players

(Columbia) October 20, 2005 - Attorneys made their closing arguments late thursday morning in the case of a former University of South Carolina football player accused of burglary.

Thompson and his ex-teammate Kevin Mainord are accused of stealing TV's from girl's dorm rooms.

Wednesday in court Mainord said Thompson orchestrated the dorm burglaries at the university in February.

Mainord pled guilty and agreed to testify against Thompson before being sentenced.

On Tuesday Thompson told the jury he never intended to steal anything.

If found guilty of the burglary charges, Thompson could be facing a 15-year prison sentence.
