Home improvement store commits $2 million to Florence recovery

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Lowe's has committed to help associates, customers, and communities that have been impacted by Hurricane Florence.

The national hardware store franchise has sent more than 2,800 truckloads of supplies needed for cleanup and recovery. Lowe's has sent out generators, bottled water, tarps, portable fans, dehumidifiers, sump pumps, Shop-Vacs, chainsaws, and bleach among other items.

Also, more than 400 associates have volunteered to be a part of the company's Employee Relief Team who will help regions who have been severely damaged.

Lowe's is also double its match to the Lowe's Employee Relief Fund. The company will donate two dollars for every dollar an employee donates. So far, the fund has provided $35 million in financial assistance to associates and family members since 1999.
