High school football games will be impacted by Hurricane Florence this weekend

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Hurricane Florence to impact Football Friday.  The Governor has issued an executive order, which orders school closures.

As long as it stays in place,  there will be no games played for the following counties in the Midlands:

  • Calhoun
  • Clarendon
  • Lexington
  • Lee
  • Orangeburg
  • Richland
  • Sumter

Some games have been rescheduled.

Due to forecast weather from Hurricane Florence, both Newberry and Mid Carolina High Schools have rescheduled their home varsity football games to Wednesday night. At present schools are still in session and operating at regular schedules. This notification just pertains to the football games.
