BellSouth is recruiting for anticipated vacancies in our Small Business Inbound Channel where the Sales Associate is the frontline specialist for over 900,000 of BellSouth's valuable Small Business customers.

Sales Associates:

  • Consult with customers to recommend and sell a variety of telecommunications products and/or services to meet customer's needs.
  • Utilize appropriate sales techniques to encourage a good customer relationship and enhance the buying experience
  • Work in a highly controlled environment where strict schedules are followed.
  • Interact with on-line systems while communicating with customers
  • New Sales Associates receive six to eight weeks of company paid initial training
  • Must meet sales quotas and service objectives

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following Minimum Requirements:

Prior Experience:
At least one year prior experience in a sales position

Work Environment:

  • Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills and be able to work in a highly controlled environment where strict schedules are followed.
  • Sales Associates must be able to interact with on-line systems while communicating with customers in an effective manner.
  • Must be willing and able to work indoors and remain at your desk for most of the day and spend most of your time on a computer and/or telephone with a headset.

Schedule:
Must beable to work a scheduled tour between 7:30am and 6:00pm covering Monday through Friday with possible mandatory overtime and Saturday work as required. Tour length is 7 ½ hours per day and 37.5 hours per week.

JOB DUTIES

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Initiates telephone calls for the purpose of selling advertising in Traditional and Non-Traditional directory publications.
  2. Develop selling strategies prior to contacting designated business (Advertisers and Non-Advertisers) using a variety of visual and other sales aids.
  3. Responsible for meeting aggressive sales quotas and objectives. Responsible for posting daily sales results.
  4. Schedules, organizes and prioritizes work to meet customer and directory deadline scheduling demands promptly, accurately and efficiently.
  5. Prepares simple layouts and background information, as basis for recommending advertising programs and listing arrangements to meet the needs of each business.
  6. Prepares forms and letters, handles detailed paper work and executes contracts for billing. Prepares necessary paper work for publishing and billing the advertisement.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
At least 6 months sales experience; strong communication & negotiation skills; MS Word and Internet proficiency; experience with outbound telephone sales and/or telemarketing within the last 5 years; accept a commission based position; experience in a call center type work environment making outbound calls with a headset.
