COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Rhame Road has been paved and now is open again to traffic.

Workers are currently laying the base on Clemson Road to protect the site in case of rain this weekend. The curbing will be put in place next week.

Clemson Road is expected to re-open sometime next week. Following a sizable water main break earlier this month, the emergency repair work on Clemson Road will cost about $500,000.

water main burst on Aug. 15 near the Village at Sandhill in Northeast Columbia caused portions of the road to sink and partially collapse near the Clemson Extension.

The break is now fixed, but parts of the road are still closed to drivers as the city works to rebuild. Crews will have two weeks to complete the project, so there will be lane closures at that time.
