(WIS) - A Columbia man has been arrested on child pornography charges.
William Edward Johnson, 34, was arrested on Aug. 14 on six charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said.
Investigators said that Johnson possessed multiple files of child pornography.
He is charged with six counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment on each count.
Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Attorney General's Office made the arrest. Investigators with the Richland County Sheriff's Office and Homeland Security Investigations, both also members of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with the arrest.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
