COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A University of South Carolina professor wants to return what she describes as an "exceptional" photo of a couple found outside of a building in the late 1990's.
Dana DeHart, Ph.D. says she found the photo outside of a demolished home in the 1600 block of Rice Street in Columbia in 1997.
"I hung onto it, as the home had many belongings outside (furniture, awards) and appeared that it had been torn down after an elderly resident passed away or was taken to residential care," DeHart said.
She's held onto it since then, admiring it in her own living room. But she says she wants to find the family of those smiling lovingly at one another.
"I recently tried to see if I could track down the name of the property's former inhabitants - maybe to locate a relative if they'd like the pic - but I haven't had much luck," DeHart said.
The photo is in black and white and an envelope with the following written on it:
