A severe thunderstorm has been issued for Lexington County until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say the storm is moving at 15 miles per hour and could produce wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour along with quarter-sized hail.
A flood advisory was also issued for Calhoun, Lexington, and Richland Counties. That advisory is expected to last until 9:45 p.m.
"A lot of these storms will weaken so we're not expecting rain all night," said WIS First Alert Chief Meteorologist Dominic Brown, "but we could see more storms like this tomorrow."
With the threat of flooding in areas around the Midlands, motorists are reminded not to attempt to drive through standing water. Turn around, don't drown.
