SPRINGDALE, SC (WIS) -

Police in Springdale are investigating after a man's truck was stolen at a gas station off Airport Boulevard. The kicker? The victim's dog was inside the truck.

The dog, Sandy, is a 2-year-old blond Labrador Retriever that's about 70 to 80 pounds.

Investigators say the victim, David Hennion, went inside the Circle K station on Airport Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday to pay for gas. When he left the convenience store, police say he saw someone driving off with his truck.

Springdale Police say they have very little evidence to go off of at the moment.

Hennion, meanwhile, says he's not even worried about the truck because he just wants Sandy back. She was last seen wearing a red collar with painted red toenails.

“I would ask no questions, as far as the materials things, the truck, I couldn't care less about, but I would like my Sandy back. That’s my baby. My little girl, and I’m lost. I’m lost," Hennion said. "She’s like my family member, she is my daughter."

Hennion says he's been looking for the dog for two days now.

"I have been out, pretty much all day today looking for her. I looked for her yesterday. I’m just hoping that maybe they let her out of the truck. Hopefully and I hate to think of what’s going through her mind right now," Hennion said.

The investigation continues.
