Police identify and charge suspect in shooting near Millwood Ave

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Columbia Police Department identified and charged a man who was shot in the leg in a shooting that took place at King and Bratton Streets Tuesday night.

According to CPD, Torrence Scott, 28, was shot in the leg as he repeatedly assaulted a man who was sitting in his car. After being shot, authorities say Scott walked away from the scene and the victim drove away. 

Since the shooting, Scott has been treated and released from a local hospital and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He has been uncooperative with officers, according to authorities, and he is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Driving Under Suspension. 

 The investigation is ongoing as officers are still trying to identify and locate the victim to get more information on what exactly happened.
